Dear BJSM Members in Melbourne,
With the successful conclusion of the AGM yesterday, the Core Committee for 2026-27 has now been formed. However, we are still in the process of finalising the Working Committee and are looking for around 5–10 more enthusiastic members to join the BJSM journey for the coming year.
We understand that many members may not have been able to attend the AGM due to it being held on a Sunday evening, so we want to extend this opportunity openly to the wider community.
BJSM is built by people from diverse professional and personal backgrounds. Whether you are experienced in events, finance, digital, sponsorship, operations, community engagement, design, youth activities or simply have the passion to contribute – and we value what you bring.
The one common factor we are looking for is:
A genuine intention to give back to the community and help BJSM grow stronger.
As a Working Committee member, you will:
- Be part of the committee journey throughout the year
- Participate in planning and execution of major initiatives and festivals
- Contribute ideas, skills and leadership
- Help shape the future experience of BJSM for all members
We are planning to finalise the Working Committee by the end of 20th May.

We also want to be transparent that, like any organisation, the final selection will involve balancing team structure, diversity of skills, experience and committee needs. While we may not be able to accommodate everyone immediately, all interested members will remain in consideration and priority for future opportunities and initiatives within BJSM.
