To introduce ourselves, the Overseas Indian Facilitation Centre (OIFC) was set up by the Government of India, Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (Now under Ministry of External Affairs) in 2007, in partnership with India’s apex industry association, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to facilitate knowledge and economic engagement of Overseas Indians with India.
I am pleased to share with you the latest initiative of OIFC to engage Post Graduate students of Indian Origin/ Heritage: The India Corporate Internship Programme.
The programme offers 65 paid internship positions to students of Indian Origin (PIO/OCI) or students with an Indian passport. This programme is mostly aimed at those Post Graduate students who have completed their 1styear of MBA and are going on to the 2nd year or are pursuing Technical education/Engineering.
The 7th Know Goa Programme 2014 is scheduled to be held from November 30 to December 14, 2014. It is intended for students and young professionals in the age group of 18 to 28 years who have distinguished themselves in various fields and who have shown an abiding interest in Goa and in India. The participants will get an opportunity to visit premier educational, cultural, historical and industrial places of interest, besides interacting with local youth and elected representatives at the grass root level, and meet State and Central Government dignitaries.

I am attaching an updated article on the PBD. There is a brief section on the Speakers. The Premiers of NSW and SA have already confirmed that they will be speaking at the event. Other prominent speakers include Senator Lisa Singh and Mr. Anand Satyanand, Former Governor General of New Zealand. We have a number of prominent speakers listed in the article.
There will be musical recitals by Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma on the Santoor and Ms. Mita Pandit (Hindustani classical vocalist). There will also be a performance of Bollywood dance by the Shiamak Davar Group and performances of different schools of Indian classical dance as well as talks on Yoga and Ayurveda. This is in addition to the areas mentioned earlier like skills, education, manufacturing, services, resources, infrastructure, agriculture, youth, media and women in business, etc.
